Allbirds will sell its shoes through Uber Eats

Allbirds is taking its direct-to-consumer model to the next level.


The sustainable shoe company announced Tuesday that it will soon offer on-demand delivery through Uber Eats, helping consumers get their products faster. With the move, Allbirds becomes the food delivery app’s first and only footwear partner and one of the first brands to launch the Uber Eats Climate Collection, a curated selection of eco-friendly brands available for delivery within the Uber Eats app. Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi made the announcement Tuesday at Uber’s annual Go-Get Zero climate event.


“Providing an engaging and effortless shopping experience is a top priority for us. We’re excited about the opportunity to not only serve our existing customers, but also connect with new ones by offering the added convenience of Uber Eats,” Allbirds CEO Joe Vernachio said in a statement.


To fulfill orders, Uber Eats will prioritize couriers who ride bicycles or electric vehicles, which Allbirds sees as an opportunity to make the last mile of its supply chain more sustainable. The Allbirds program will begin with distribution centers near four major Allbirds stores (San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago and New York), with the potential to expand to more locations.


“At Uber, our goal is to make sustainable choices easier to make in everyday life,” said Pierre-Dimitri Gore-Coty, senior vice president of delivery at Uber, in a statement.


The partnership is the latest distribution announcement for Allbirds, which launched a turnaround plan last year in part to optimize U.S. distribution and store profitability. In November, the brand launched on Amazon, building on existing wholesale partnerships with REI, Nordstrom, Public Lands, House of Sports and Scheels.


Allbirds has also increased marketing spending to drive brand awareness ahead of new product launches in 2025. In August, the brand launched a new marketing campaign, “Allbirds by Nature,” that celebrates the brand’s natural and sustainable roots.
