PF. Flyers Unveils New Collection With an Emphasis on Vintage Americana Styling in Time for the Olympics
PF. Flyers is unveiling a new collection that is just in time for the Olympic season.
Combining elements of their classic vintage features alongside modern updates, the Vintage Soles collection contains three new colorways of the brand’s Center Hi sneaker, which comes in the shades Black/Gum, Clay and Sea Salt/Black.
This collection blends timeless craftsmanship and contemporary design while also celebrating history, courage and the human spirit’s desire to soar to new heights as a reminder of the daring adventures and pioneering breakthroughs that have shaped the world of aviation.
The Center Hi, which was first introduced to the public in 1944, is crafted with a durable canvas construction in the upper, and a gum outsole for extra grip, durability and traction. Included in the design is the brand’s Posture Foundation Magic Cushioning, which boasts a comfortable padded midsole that is also sweat-wicking. The rubber toe-cap also assists with the durable nature of the shoe due to its strong build, with the silhouette being rounded out by silver eyelets and waxed laces. Completing the model is a microsuede fused logo patch for a classic appeal.
This follows PF Flyers’ recent collaboration with footwear and fashion artist Alexander John, which was a limited edition offering consisting of baseball jackets, trucker hats, graphic t-shirts and a reimagined version of their Center Lo Classic canvas sneakers. Aiming for a grunge 1990s Americana style, there were only 50 pairs of shoes included in the capsule, which merged the tongue-in-cheek autobiographical story of how he lost his baseball collection as a kid with a tale of baseball rising from the dead as a trendsetter in culture and fashion.
These new collections stem in part from a new partnership with Revolve, in which the company is rebranding its focus towards a younger consumer base.
The Vintage Soles collection is available to shop now.
