Supreme and Vans Team Up on the Sid Sneaker With a Big ‘F You’
Supreme and Vans are saying “Fuck Em!” in their latest collaboration.
The Supreme x Vans Sid will release this week with three colorways featuring the obscene phrase at midfoot. The suede sneaker is available in blue, red and black — each of which features a white vulcanized sole with trim in its respective color. Supreme’s name is embroidered onto the heel, and the “Fuck Em!” mark appears as a leather patch inset on the lateral midfoot. Popcush insoles are borrowed from Vans’ pro series for protection while skating.
While it’s not as well known as some of Vans’ staple models, the Sid originally launched in 1995 with the brand’s Flying V logo where the Supreme graphic now appears. After sitting in the archives for some time, Supreme brought back the Sid for another collaboration in 2018 featuring the same premium suede and leather lining. That capsule featured four colorways including a Dalmatian print, all of which retained the original logo at midfoot while adding Supreme embroidery to the tongue.
Prior to becoming sister brands under the VF umbrella in 2020, Supreme and Vans have been collaborating since 1996, just two years after the New York City streetwear brand was founded. VF Corp. is now considering selling Supreme after acquiring it for $2.1 billion, according to a report from WWD, and chief financial officer Matthew Puckett said the brand’s business was “uneven” in 2023.
The Supreme x Vans Sid will release this Thursday, June 13, through Supreme’s website and physical stores. Pricing for the sneakers has not yet been confirmed.
